On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,287. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 3.724 billion and the number of lots traded was 7,956.

Major business was contributed by gold PKR 1.867 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 534.075 million, WTI crude oil PKR 344.220 million, platinum PKR 292.296 million, silver PKR 166.370 million, DJ PKR 164.810 million, SP500 PKR 103.987 million, natural gas PKR 98.918 million, copper PKR 94.956 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 51.509 million and Brent crude oil PKR 5.872 million. In agricultural commodities two lots of cotton amounting to PKR 0.860 million were traded.
